Version 1.2.5 of the Data Queue connector for Power Center support all data queue types and enables reading i5/OS database changes in real time. New name of the product is "Data Queue & CDC Connector for i5/OS". Data available in the i5/OS journal are propagated to Informatica Power Center. Power Center real time edition is the only licence requirement.

The Power Center connector for IBMi,i5/OS (former as/400) Change Data Capture (CDC) is being used to build solution in which database changes in near real time are applied to any database supported by Informatica PowerCenter. It virtually means to any database. On IBMi,i5/OS (as/400) database changes are deposited to journal (transaction log). The connector makes the changes available to PowerCenter mapping. Having the changes available to PowerCenter is easy to develop fully functional cdc replication to any database.

As an example, having version 1.2.3 in 8 hours was build mapping which reads changes from IBMi,i5/OS (as/400) database which are deposited to journal and applies them to SQL database.  The changes where applied to 60 tables. The process was proven to survive TCP/IP connection failures and restart of operating system. Current version is 1.2.5 and the solution is even better. In previous version, when new table is added to change data capture, CDC mapping has to by modified. While, new version, requires only new entries in configuration table. Thus, currently 60 tables, requires only a few minutes for CDC to be ready.

The real time replication is being used in my previous firm (which is one of the world leading insurance companies) and large International Technological Corporation.

Licence for Informatica PowerCenter Real Time edition is required.
